After Hurricane Katrina thousands of flood damaged cars ended in the car auctions and dealerships lots across the country.  Thus there is even more risk for car buyers to purchase a car with flood damage, without even knowing it and become a victim of auto dealer fraud.

Keep in mind that water damaged vehicles have a number of issues with safety. The majority of water damaged vehicles, otherwise known as “flood cars” should be considered total losses and should never be driven again. However, there a lot of car dealers in the market that will be eager to use these vehicles to earn more money.

Beware that these vehicle are sold outside the states, where the flood happened. They are shipped to other states, where car buyers are less likely to suspect that the car they intend to purchase was submerged in water.

If you believe that the vehicle you have recently purchased is flood damaged and the car dealer has not informed you about that, then you may be a victim of car dealer fraud. Contact an experienced dealer fraud lawyer, who will be able to evaluate your case and help you file a claim against the dealership.
