If you are going to sign a used car purchase contract with an auto dealer, you have to learn some necessary information:

a)   Quality assurance and guarantee from a dealer –The dealer should conduct a car mechanical check. This inspection must include detailed information about vehicle’s exterior situation, interior cleaning and other mechanical grading. The used car dealer should guarantee the vehicle and notify any defects that may be claimed by experts.

b)   Odometer inspection and certification – Your dealer should provide Odometer Certification. It is important to get more protection against odometer fraud. An odometer (or milometer) is a device used for indicating distance traveled by a car. The certification of each vehicle is conducted by Odometer Inspection Services (OIS).

c)    Protect yourself using the online “pre-order feature”– It is recommended to verify the used car model preferred by you, using “pre order feature” that is available online. It will help you to submit details of the car you are interested in. It will search for the vehicle and immediately notify you through email as soon as a vehicle that matches your preferences is found. No fees and no obligation at all.

d)    Stolen vehicle check – A used car dealer should have and provide you with full ownership history checks on all vehicles (including stolen vehicle certification, legal and/or financial assistance, refund of purchase price etc.).

You can make a deal with second hand car dealers more profitable in case you are a knowledgeable and skillful buyer!
